Timing Control Options for Annoucement Widget

The Timing Control section in WiserNotify is designed to manage when and how long notifications are displayed on your website. By configuring these settings, you can ensure that your notifications appear at the right time and duration to maximize their effectiveness and avoid overwhelming visitors.

1. Behavior Rule

Start and Expiry Date

  • Select Start Date:
    • Set the exact date and time when the notification should begin displaying.
    • Example: If you have a time-sensitive discount starting on December 1 at 10:00 AM, configure this here.
  • Select Expiry Date:
    • Set the date and time when the notification should stop displaying.
    • Example: If the discount ends on December 5 at 11:59 PM, this is where you define the end date.
  • Use Case:
    • Ideal for limited-time offers, seasonal promotions, or event-specific announcements.

Schedule on Specific Days of the Week

  • Checkbox Option:
    • When checked, you can select specific days of the week for the notification to display.
  • Use Case:
    • For recurring promotions like “Weekend Sales” or “Monday Discounts,” show the notification only on relevant days.

2. Display Rule

Show After (Delay)

  • Dropdown Option:
    • Specify how many seconds after the page loads the notification will appear.
    • Example: If set to 5 seconds, the notification will appear 5 seconds after a visitor lands on the page.
  • Purpose:
    • Delays can help avoid overwhelming users as soon as the page loads, giving them time to focus on the primary content first.

Show Widget Using JavaScript

  • Checkbox Option:
    • If enabled, you can trigger the notification using custom JavaScript code.
  • Use Case:
    • Advanced users or developers can control when the notification appears based on specific triggers, like when a visitor scrolls to a particular section of the page.

3. Hide After (Duration)

  • Hide After:
    • Set the number of seconds the notification will remain visible before automatically disappearing.
    • Example: If set to 10 seconds, the notification will hide itself after being displayed for 10 seconds.
  • Purpose:
    • Ensures the notification doesn’t stay on the screen too long, which could distract users from engaging with the website’s content.

4. Show Timer Text

  • Checkbox Option:
    • Enables a countdown timer on the notification to visually indicate how long it will remain visible.
  • Add Counter:
    • Customize the text or design of the timer if enabled.
  • Use Case:
    • Perfect for creating urgency in time-sensitive promotions, such as flash sales or limited-time offers.

Important: After making changes, check your notification in a private browser to avoid cache issues.
